How old was your baby when you first gave them baby cereal?

Question by GRUMPY!: How old was your baby when you first gave them baby cereal?
My daughter is four months and she spits up a ton. I've heard putting rice cereal in her milk can help decrease the spit up. I want to try it but I've heard it's not a good idea to give a baby anything but milk for the first six months. What's your experience with this?
