What are the negative effects on babies that are fed baby cereal before 4 months of age?

Question by .: What are the negative effects on babies that are fed baby cereal before 4 months of age?
I know some people feed their babies rice cereal and such way too early....are babies effected negatively by this? And why do you/they feed them solid food so early?

(I know even 4 months is too early, but I plan to start her on a TINY bit of baby cereal when she turns 4 months.)
