My cat died of kidney failure early 2005 and was wondering if it had anything to do with the Chinese food adulteration scare that began on 2007.
Does anyone know when the earliest case of possible melamine contamination in pet food in North America was?

I was thinking that with all the recalls on pet food, that it may be safer to just cook and feed them foods that I know what is going into it, and not leaving it to a food production company, so what human foods would be safe and provide the necessary nutrition (vitamins and minerals) for a cat?

dogs ,road kill, in our pet food.
If you see the word "meat" that means cat or dog bodies (meat).
If this is true, I will NEVER buy dog or cat food again!

Need suggestions for good Chinese food in Richmond BC. The place that we have ordered from for the past 15 yrs, which was excellent, has had a health board issue so it would be hard to try them again. They were great because they had no MSG. Any other ideas?

Is there other good brands out there? I have an almost 3-month old Lab puppy. Right now he's on Science Diet, but after doing some research, I found out that is not the best food for my dog, so I want to switch him ASAP.

Things we do for love. This is a recipe from the "Good food cookbook for dogs" by Donna Twichell Roberts.
This is her first recipe (p. 19) and sticks to basic ingredients:
6 chicken thighs
8 cups water
1 cup rice
Can (28 oz) diced tomatoes
28 oz chicken broth
4 peeled and chopped potatoes (I subbed sweet potatoes)
4 peeled & sliced carrots
1 cup macaroni
680g frozen peas.

i need to know for my school project , we must bring in 3 dishes , i was assigned 2 , i need to know the cheapest ones and possibly how to make it. it must be italian by origin or possibly a greek origin but italians had to have something to do with it.
btw just so noone can say "stick to your own damn culture" let me just add that i am italian but do not cook italian food.
btw , spaghetti and lasagne are already

I was going to make my own but I'm on WIC. WIC in CA provides a large amount of baby food organic included. What would be good organic food to get? Is it as good as it sounds? I live on small Army post. I think Gerber is the main brand. My son is almost 6 months old.

TIPS: Use dried chickpeas, not only are they healthier then canned ones, but also so cheaper, so you can afford the organic ones. Just remember lo soak them minimum for 6 hours before boiling them. A good idea is to leave them in water

I can't afford a food mixer right now and I would love to bake homemade bread.
People have been baking bread for so many centuries and they didn't have electrical equipment.
I knead dough for chapattis. Is the kneading technique different for bread dough?

Chef Michel (italian cook who was on the food network) said for carbonara...people use milk (I believe)because they like it creamy...but he used parmesano regano (a cheese)....i think that is the only difference because u can find italian pasta in the store....and the other youtube videos...that was the only difference...
