Why are whole grain rice cakes high GI and agave syrup, and concentrated fruit syrups low GI?

Question by Amber: Why are whole grain rice cakes high GI and agave syrup, and concentrated fruit syrups low GI?
You would think that the fiber in the whole grain rice cakes would slow the GI down, and as they have no sugar in them why are they higher GI than agave and fruit syrups which have high levels of natural fructose and are really sweet?

Answer by izzyThe reason agave syrup is "low glycemic" is due to the unusually high concentration of fructose
